Clothes Look-Book: Summer Wear

It's Summer; The season of hotter days, cooler drinks, longer days, and shorter nights. Summer is also the season of cuter clothing and stripping your closet of winter clothes.

Now if you're anything like me, you're probably starting to shop for more appropriate clothes for the warmer weather since summer calls for less busy days and nothing else to do. And while it's nice and all to scroll through the never ending pages of your favorite online stores, when it comes down to it, what are you actually going to buy? Is it going to be that crop top or off the shoulder shirt? A plain tee or patterned tank?

Decisions are hard to make on their own, but add the stress of choosing from a list of clothing off of a new summer line- and suddenly buying new clothes comes way more complicated than it should be. Luckily, I have a few outfit ideas for summer that you can base your future purchases off of.

The Off the Shoulder

For this first look, keeping it lightly layered is key. In brutal summer weather, wearing heavy clothing can make you unreasonably sweaty. So opting for a light-weight off the shoulder top with some denim shorts can help you feel and look 10x better. And although the whole 'off the shoulder shirt' look is really in this year, I think what makes this outfit is the bandana. I know many of you won't want to try it, but in my opinion, the bandana is what completes the look.

What to get:

- An off the shoulder top (the color doesn't matter as much as steering away from patterns)
- A pair of distressed mid-wash shorts
- Carmel colored belt
- Carmel colored booties
- A black bandana (... only if you're bold.)

The Boho

Whether you're going to a festival or a concert, this boho outfit will make you look on top of the game. The trick to any boho outfit is to mix it up and be bold with your purchases. Find some long patterned pants? Buy them. Find a cool pair of sunglasses? Get them. With this type of look- you can't go wrong.

What to get:

- A tight grey crop top
- A white laced cardigan
- Patterned shorts
- Sandals or a light brown pair of heels
- Multiple necklaces that can be layered easily (... meaning you'll need a choker or two, a mid-length necklace, and a long statement necklace)

The Graphic Tee

Going out with friends? Throwing on a graphic tee and some denim shorts never fails.

What to get:
- A graphic tee (some of my favorite graphic tees can be found at Target for around $10)
- A pair of dark wash shorts
- A light wash jean jacket (try to get a larger size so it can easily be thrown on as an accessory)
- White high-top converse

The Casual Dress

For nights out when I want to be casual, dressing down a simple black dress is my go to. This can easily be achieved by grabbing a loose dress and a light jacket.

What to get:
- A black dress (or any color as long as it's plain and pattern free)
- A long sleeve button-up that can be wrapped around your waist
- Lace-up sandals
- A long statement necklace (make sure it isn't fancy though, because you are going for more of a casual look.)

The Denim Skirt

The denim skirt. These days I don't see many people wearing denim skirts, but I firmly believe that they should be worn more. Pair it with a tank or graphic tee and you have an affordable, yet cute outfit.

What to get:
- Either another graphic tee or a tank top
- A denim skirt (I bought mine from American Eagle, but I have seen multiple denim skirts at Forever 21 that would be less pricey but just as good.)
- White Converse
