When you're surrounded by walls of jewelry in a store, picking out the right piece can be VERY overwhelming. Do you go with the long golden necklace with the tassels? Or the short one with beads? Having so many choices out there, it's hard to know which ones are worth buying. Choosing between two, three, or even four different styles of necklaces can feel like a mind game that your stuck in.
For me, choosing the right piece of jewelry can drive me insane. So when it comes down to it, I try to stick with the styles that look good and that I like. As far as actually shopping for the jewelry, my favorite stores (with inexpensive quality necklaces) are Stargaze, Forever 21, Altar'd State and H&M. And while I do buy jewelry and accessories from those stores, I also get a good amount of my pieces from boutiques. So for future reference, don't be scare to pop into a smaller store or two (they might just have what you're looking for).
Here's just a few of my favorite styles that I believe are both good-looking and functional for anyone!
To achieve a fancier look, I think choosing a good (already) layered necklace works perfectly. These types of necklaces can upgrade any outfit effortlessly. (Just be careful not to tangle them. Trust me, untangling those babies is hard.) I've found my favorite layered necklaces at Forever 21 and H&M in the past.
Chokers! These are my absolute favorite types of necklaces. Whether you want to wear one with a casual or a fancy outfit, chokers easily complete either style without taking anything away from them. I recommend getting chokers that are simple and dainty; That way if you choose to layer them with long necklaces, it doesn't make the ensemble look cluttered. Some of my best quality chokers have been from Stargaze Jewelry.
Longer necklaces are so cool in my opinion. Casual or dressy- each one is unique. Whether you want to wear the statement piece by itself or layer it with other necklaces or chokers, either way works to further style an outfit. You can find these necklaces pretty much anywhere, but my favorite of these types of necklaces have been from Altar'd State.
Looking for the right piece of jewelry to match your style and outfits can be challenging at times, but hopefully this helps you in your future decisions.
