For a while now, my room has been quite the reflection of my thirteen year-old self. A colorful comforter, thick burlap lining my chairs and headboard, and shelves full of chapter books I read when I was in elementary school are just a couple of items that come to mind when I think back to my old, cringe-worthy room.
In hopes of coming home to a place that reflects my present self, this past summer I set out to redecorate my room. Using a neutral color palette, highlighting orange and green tones in leather, wood, and plants, I came up with a organic look that is both minimalistic and rustic.
Whether you want your room to reflect a clean, modern style or a bohemian, eclectic style, I recommend finding plenty of pictures from magazines or Pinterest that clearly represent the look you're going for. Taking your insporation and a solid color palette, take time to look both online and at local stores for good quality items paired with some recycled accessories so that you can save money where you can.
